So I've read the famous Hunger Games--well, just the first book in the series. I have to admit that I did enjoy reading it. Not my favorite book, but it nonetheless kept me craving for more. I really dislike how the end of it was, with them not on good terms, but I suppose it pushes the reader to continue to read the others. I, however, don't really have the ambition. One, because I let my friend tell me about them, and two, nobody seems to like how the third book ends. Not that they're the reason for me not to read the rest of the series, I just don't really want to. I just feel like it resolved itself--other than withholding Kitniss's reuniting with her mother, sister, and best friend. But, I can guess that they were very happy that she survived. I liked that it finished with the two of them, and that they outsmarted the Gamemakers in the Game. Not enough blood for my taste, but that's just me.
Anyway, the concept was brilliant, and I'm surprised I hadn't thought of anything like it.
The wolf thing near the end, however, I thought was a bit overdone--just in my opinion.
Feel free to discuss the books and/or try to compel me into reading the others. Hope you enjoyed reading it, and if you haven't, I suggest you do. The plotting and pacing is steady, which I hardly find in books.
